The Indigenous Health Workforce Traineeships (IHWT) Program is designed to provide funded traineeships for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples who are looking to study and/or have a strong interest in an heath (HLT) course or community services (CHC) traineeship whilst working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS) across Western Australia. The program, coordinated by AHCWA, offers trainees dedicated guidance, support, and cultural mentorship throughout their traineeship to help them succeed in their studies and future careers.
Benefits of the IHWT program
All training costs are covered under the IHWT program, and trainees will receive a weekly wage from their employer, as well as funding for course fees, travel, accommodation, and travel allowance to attend training (travel and accommodation fees are based on where the trainee lives/works).
ACCHS are eligible to claim the following for each trainee:

Note: Not all approved qualifications are available in WA and may not be offered by an RTO.
